Biryani-Style Lamb Rice

About the Dish

A little extravagant for the weekend. All you have to do is put the ingredients in the rice cooker and wait.

Ingredients

  • 200g Lamb thigh for steak
  • 1.5 go Rice
  • 200cc Water
  • 2 Medium tomatos
  • 3tbsp Fried onions
  • 1tbsp Nampula
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Laurier

A: Marinade

  • 1tbsp Grated ginger
  • 1tsp Grated garlic
  • 2tbsp Plain yogurt
  • 2tsp Curry powder
  • 1tsp Salt

B: Yogurt sauce

  • 4tbsp Plain yogurt
  • 1 piece Cucumber (5mm square)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2tsp Lemon juice
  • 8-10 pieces Chopped mint
  • A little black pepper

For finishing

  • 2 slices of Lemon
  • 1/4 Red onion
  • 12 Mint leaves

Directions

    Put the lamb meat together with *A* in a plastic bag and marinate. (Preferably the day before!)

    Rinse the rice, add water, marinated lamb (including all sauces), tomatoes cut into 1 cm pieces, onions, fish sauce, cinnamon, and bay leaves and cook.

    Mix *B* to make yogurt sauce.

    When the rice is cooked, put it in a bowl and decorate with sliced lemon, red onion and mint.
