Chef Saba Wahid Duffy has been working in the culinary industry for many years.
Her career began in catering when she lived in NYC and has evolved incredibly since then. While working and living in New York, Saba also attended the French Culinary Institute (now known as ICC), which kicked off her professional culinary career.
Saba has spent some time abroad working in Dubai as a TV host and culinary media personality, building her brand and network internationally. Saba co-hosted a daily lifestyle TV show which included a weekly cooking segment, plus had a weekly recipe feature in a local magazine. She also hosted culinary events all over the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Saba is a well known culinary educator, chef demonstrator, appliance expert, recipe writer, and food content creator. Her accolades in the industry are impressive with appearances on local TV plus features in magazine articles, and blogs. Saba also works with various brands on appliance education and is a well known industry expert. Saba is recognized on a national level for her work with Induction technology and is a certified induction educator by the Building Decarbonization Coalition (BDC).
During the summer of 2020 Saba was cast for a special episode of Chopped with Martha Stewart on Food Network (Chopped: Martha’s Rules). Nervous and excited about the opportunity, Saba was up against some of the best culinary talent in the country. Out of 16 competitors, Saba prevailed and won the grand prize of $50k plus the elite title of Chopped Grand Champion.
Saba invested the winnings into her first small business, a food truck, Kush By Saba, which she ran with her sister Sara Wahid in Boston, MA for the last 2 years. They served up Modern Mediterranean fare with global influences, inspired by their South Asian heritage. Some of the mouth watering dishes included the curry spiced chickpea falafel, harissa brown sugar braised beef, plus the spicy mac and cheese with lamb merguez crumble to name a few.
Going into their third year of operation, Chef Saba is opening a brick and mortar restaurant with a plan to launch by Fall 2024. Chef Saba Wahid Duffy is also a culinary instructor at New England Culinary Arts Training (NECAT) as well as the Bowdoin Street Health Center (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center) in Boston. Chef Saba’s commitment to education and serving delicious scratch made food is a passion.
Chef Saba Wahid Duffy also participated in Food Network’s first International Cooking Competition set in Tuscany, Italy called Ciao House (April 16 2023-June 4 2023)! Recognized on an international level, Chef Saba is a culinary powerhouse. She is also working on her first cookbook, featuring her original Modern Mediterranean cuisine.
